I'm John Batscher with my good colleague Bill Raja of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy.

He keeps the Long World Journal where you can routinely see reporting by our guest and colleague Ahmad Sharawi about Syria being transformed apparently into a military state.

Half of it looking to be controlled by Damascus.

The other half, well, Israel is deployed defensively to the south.

Russia is deployed offensively to the west.

Turkey dominates the north.

And in the east, there are their contractors, the U.S. deployment to protect the Kurds in some fashion.

That that is a simple version of this landscape.

Akhman, I've been told by the F.T. this morning that there are 100 arsenal sites throughout Syria that are of grave concern,

some of which contain chemical warfare, some of which have been bombed or in some way blown

up by the Israelis trying to keep the chemical weapons from reproducing themselves and falling

into the hands of former al-Qaeda ops. Do you hear anything like that of an effort to go into those arsenals and empty them of chemical weapons?

Anything like that going on?

Yes.

So there was a report that the U.S. has submitted a list to the new Syrian government or sanctions relief.
