be leaning towards Beijing in the future. Terrorism and human rights, they can go together

and because or the terrorism story is taken a back seat momentarily to the war in

Ukraine, what is it that the US can offer Riyadh, especially because terrorism and human

rights can go together? I think it is no secret that Riyadh treats criminals, treats people

that regards as vagrants or lawbreakers with horrible endings. Is that a conversation

between Washington and Riyadh? It absolutely has to be a conversation between Washington and

Riyadh. Jake Sullivan in a speech yesterday, right before traveling to Saudi Arabia, reiterated

that the US values human rights and will continue to promote human rights. It believes that

the world is a more stable place when human rights are respected, when people can hold their

governments accountable, governance is better, and the US also believes it is a US value promoting

human rights. Obviously there has been a lot of tension between the US and Saudi Arabia over

human rights, exemplified by the death of Jamal Khashoggi, who was a Saudi national, US

permanent resident, writer for the Washington Post, who was killed during a visit to the Saudi
