I'm John Bax to with my colleague Paul Gregory at the Hoover Institution writing about

Lenin's brain. This is actually a brain that sat the Lenin Institute in Moscow. Compared to

ordinary brains, Lenin is declared a genius for comrade Stalin in the 1930s.

Stalin now sees himself as a leader genius,

but he can't give him his brain.

That would be difficult while he's alive.

So how does he express his genius how does he oblige everybody else to match his genius Paul?

Well Stalin was not particularly interested in Marxist theory, as were some of his rivals.

Lenin based his claim to the top position on the fact that he was the leading interpreter of Marx and in fact it didn't

become Marx in, it became Marx Leninism.

So it was up to Stalin to establish his credentials,

let's say.

One problem he had on the evening of Lenin's death was the fact that he was not

there to send comrade Lennon off, rather his rival.

Nikolai Bucharest happened to be there at Lennon's bedside and came up with a very vivid description of Lenin's last moments and how probably Lenin declared his love for

Macron and so forth.

This was a problem because Stalin had already planned his campaign

to succeed Lenin.

He received a phone call from Buchoran from the bedside basically and Buchoran notified

Stalin of the sad news and Stalin already knew what to do which was to tell Bucharn

come to the Kremlin immediately get the hell out of there come here and will all go together

the purpose of this was to convince the party and convince the public that Bucharest was not at the bedside, rather there was a whole
