The end is near. I'm Ted Lindner, Fox News. The Senate on Monday night passing a bill to reopen the federal government, sending it to the House of Representatives for final approval.

I am very, very happy to be able to say that we are coming to the end.

Senator John Thune, the final vote in the Senate, 60 to 40, eight Democrats joining all Republicans,

except for one that was Senator Ram Paul in support.

One of those Democrats, Pennsylvania, Senator John Federman.

It really wasn't difficult for me personally compared to the 42 million Americans now that they had their snap suspended.

And then the military, the military not getting paid, all these government workers. This vote overcoming a potential filibuster

consider the first step in the process to pass the compromise legislation. The bill now

heads to the House, which expects to vote as early as Wednesday.

Thousands of airport delays and cancellations, though, continuing on Monday.

Disappointment from travelers who have had their flights canceled or delayed due to an air traffic controller shortage amid the government shutdown.

Here's Kathy Martinez Gutierrez, who had one of her flights to Italy canceled. I'm very frustrated, but you know, this is life and you got to do what

you can do. The FAA instructed airlines to cut 4% of daily flights starting last Friday at 40 major

airports across the U.S. because of the shortage in air traffic controllers.

Tuesday, reductions in flights are mandated to reach 6% and then will hit 10% by Friday.

Amid the government shutdown, controllers have been retiring in droves up to 15 to 20 per day.

The jackpot now worth at least $900 million or $415.3 million in cash.
