Good evening everyone this is Bob Ganeer along with Phil Rizzuto and

Frank Besser at Yankee Stadium and we're getting ready for the second game

with the double-headed between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers.

Tigers won a rather lackluster opening ball game, but it had a little more lesser on us for the Tigers than to the Yankees because they won it by a final score of 2 to 1.

There was no scoring in the game after the 1st inning.

The Tigers scored first in the 3rd with 2 outs Mickey Stanley tripled and scored in a while pitch. Yankees tied it up at the 3rd. Two-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-Lis.

Yankees tied it up with the third, a team Michael single, Stolavire sacrificed in the second,

and Berman Munson came through with a base head.

Tiger's got the winning run on the fifth inning on a double by Stanley.

He went to third on a ground ball of first by K-line and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jim Northrop.

Yankees had two hits from Johnny Ellis, his last hit coming in the fourth inning and

that was the last hit for the New York Yankees. The closest they came the

tie in the ballgame was Roy White long line line drive that K-line looked back and caught just above the

fence in right field and that was in the sixth inning and the last 10 men in the

row went down as the winning

Two runs, eight hits for the Detroit Tigers

and one run and four hits for the New York Yankees in the opener of the double header.

The Tigers come up with their first win at Yankee Stadium this year. The Yankees have beaten on the other two ball games.
