We're ready now for the fifth game of the World Series and the umpires who will work

today's game are grouped around Casey Stengel back of the plate.

The starting pitches for the New York Yankees Bob Grimm still going on with his warm-ups

and the youngster Roger Craig who will work for the Brooklyn Dodgers concluding his warm-ups.

The sun has favored us with its brilliant rays and while the

temperature is in the cool 60s at least the day is a happy one and it's a happy

one especially for the Dodger fans who came home here at Abbotsfield trailing

by two games after the Yankees had won the first two six five four two and the

Dodger hearts were really singing after the Dodgers came up with the victory in a third game 8-3 and

yesterday's victory over the Yankees 8-5 which has made the serious stand all even at

two games of peace has everybody buzzing. The sun is shining brightly

and the wind is blowing it's a moderate breeze in from left field towards the plate.

The lines are being marked and in just a very few minutes the fifth game of the

World Series will be played. The New York Yankees Elston Howard will lead off and

play left field. Erv Norne will be in center field.

Gil McDougal will bat third and play third base.

Badding fourth is Yogi Bar, the catcher.

Joe Collins will be in right field for the Yankees and bat fifth. This is occasioned by the

pull leg muscle of Mickey Mantle and the pull leg muscle of Snake Bauer. Eddie Robinson

will be in first race and he will bat six.

Billy Martin will play second-based, bat seven.
