0:10.6	The topic today is just a little topic. Our bodies and our minds.
0:17.2	Romans 12, 1 and 2, of course a good place to start. I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present
0:26.5	your bodies a living sacrifice wholly acceptable to God which is your reasonable service, and do not be conformed to this world, but be
0:36.2	transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
0:45.0	All right, that's a big mouthful. But notice that we present our bodies and it is
0:51.8	our minds that are transformed and renewed. Our minds lead our bodies
0:56.6	which is why we so desperately need to have our minds renewed in Christ. Here in Romans Paul is begging he says he's
1:05.8	beceaching pleading with the Roman Christians and with us to use our bodies for
1:12.4	God's service as long as we have a body.
1:15.0	Our bodies are to be living sacrifices, not dead ones.
1:19.0	We're to live on the altar, serving and pleasing God with our bodies, with our hands, with our eyes,
1:25.9	with our feet, with our mouth. This is our reasonable service. And knowing this
1:31.5	reminds us to pay attention to just how important each and every day that we live really is when it comes to following Christ.
1:41.0	How we conduct ourselves with our bodies is a central way in which we please or
1:46.4	displease God and obviously we want our daily behavior to be holy and
1:51.8	acceptable to him. As we present our bodies to him, we are
1:56.4	to be at war with the world, refusing to conform our minds to the world's agenda. We're to look in a different direction entirely for our
2:05.6	marching orders and then our bodies do as our renewed minds direct and this isn't complicated, right? But at the same time it means we have to think about
2:18.7	it. We have to be conscientious about this. What does it look like to present our bodies a living
2:26.1	sacrifice? It's super important we don't over-spiritualize this. It just means
2:31.8	getting yourself out of bed like a Christian and getting to your duties cheerfully.
