Summary

There is nothing more frustrating than nervously watching a tragedy unfold before your eyes and feel like there is nothing you can do to help. The hours I have spent the last month reading articles, watching video clips, and following friends on social media who are going through natural disasters is mind blowing.

This nervous energy eats me alive. I want to DO something.

Ironically in Cincinnati, Ohio, we have very few natural disasters. A stray tornado or big snow storm, but nothing like the fires, earthquakes, and hurricanes I 've watched in the last month.

Even so, emergencies in general are a guarantee in life. Someday you will need to have your medical and financial ducks in a row to facilitate your care or the care of a loved one.

This week in the podcast, Betsy shares her Houston Hurricane story, and I share how you can organize your important documents and help the autistic community at the Avondale House School in Houston, Texas.

1:00.3	that are happening all around the world that I'm not seeing on my media. I don't watch TV. I don't listen to the news.
1:07.5	All I do is on my iPhone. I scroll to the left and I look at what the news says is the top four stories of the day.
1:14.0	That's all I do. I don't really watch news at all. What I know is is that
1:20.4	emergencies and emergency situations are a guarantee in life.
1:25.6	You will not go through your entire life and not experience some kind of emergency.
1:31.6	You may not experience a natural disaster, but you will experience
1:36.5	some kind of emergency where you need to leave your house quickly, where someone needs you to come to their
1:42.2	aid and advocate for their medical or where someone will probably have to do the
1:43.0	and advocate for their medical or financial needs.
1:46.0	And at some point in your life,
1:48.0	someone will probably have to do the same for you.
1:51.0	They will need to know your medical history.
1:53.6	They will need to know where your money is
