Abductions and murders by strangers are extremely rare.

As you would know, if you're a regular listener to this podcast, a child was most likely

harmed by a parent or close family member.

But stranger abductions do happen.

We talked about one in particular a few weeks back with Sarah Payne. Except while Sarah was taken from a cornfield, Alicia

vanished from the safety of her own bed, a place where she should have been the safest.

July 2018, Rothsay, Isle of Butte, Scotland.

This small country town was thrust into the national headlines,

when six-year-old Alicia McFaul was abducted from the home of her father,

having arrived just three days before.

She was raped and brutally murdered.

The country in shock when it was revealed that her killer was still a child himself,

a remorseless psychopath who admitted,
