So this is basically an inspirational story of success, pretty much a rags to riches story, a journey of coming to America with nothing, spending a decade, figuring things out, failing at multiple businesses and ventures to eventually building a multi million dollar restaurant group with 11 restaurants, all different concepts and cuisines in California.

So our guest today is chef Viet Win. Viet is the founder and co CEO of key concepts, a thriving restaurant and management group that develops and manages proprietary brands and incubates emerging concepts.

Since 2013, key concepts has introduced 11 restaurant concepts to the Orange County area in California.

So we're going to learn about the why, how and reason for being for Viet and his company today.

Hi, well, thanks for having me.

Yeah, so you've done so many amazing things. I live in Orange County and I've seen your restaurants and I'm just really inspired by what you've been able to create.

And so I want to get into your story. So like take us from the beginning. Like what is your background?

I came here in 2002 first as an international student. So at that time, I was just trying to get out of the country, try to learn more about, you know, I would say Western business life.

At that time, Viet and I was still a developing country. Everything was just still slow. I do know what I want to do with my life.

I was going to just apply to a bunch of different countries and America just happened to call me first. And so I pass interview and that's off I go.

So that's how I started. I started by just a curious child, right, curious student.
