And today, we're talking about Turkish cinema.

And this is the last in our four-week international cinema club.

Oh, thank God.

We've had some of the lowest listener numbers of any episodes that we've ever done.

Well, I've enjoyed it.

Yeah, I think that we did the work, and we did the right thing, that we can point to this

month when we do yet another episode on a Poverty Row filmmaker.

But, you know, I think we've made good discoveries this month.

And so we decided when we were going to talk about this topic that we wanted something a little

bit more trashy. So I picked the actor, Janate Arkin, who is most famous for appearing in Turkish

Star Wars. Now, a lot of people will be listening to this and say, Turkish Star Wars, what's

that?

Mm-hmm. It is exactly what it sounds like. A low-budget Turkish rip-off of Star Wars.

Well, rip-off of Star Wars. I mean, it steals from Star Wars, whole scenes.

It sort of gets the aesthetic, including stock footage.

Yes.

So Turkish rip-off movies, I sort of fell in love with them, you know, early in university.
