Summary

A native of Hungary, Dr. Edith Eger was a teenager in 1944 when she and her family were sent to Auschwitz during WWII. Despite overwhelming odds, Edith survived the Holocaust and ultimately came to the US with her husband where she went on to graduate with a Ph.D. from the University of Texas and became an eminent psychologist. Today, she maintains a busy clinical practice and lectures around the world — including amazing interviews with Oprah, Brene Brown, and more. Today, we’re fortunate to have her joined by her extraordinary daughter, child psychologist Dr. Marianne Engle, who co-authored just released a new edition of her beloved book The Gift — a follow up of her NY Times Bestseller The Choice. The original edition launched in Sept 2020 to rave reviews for its warm and insightful approach to dealing with life's most complex challenges — and provides a hands-on guide that gently encourages readers to change the thoughts and behaviors that may be keeping them imprisoned in the past. This new edition brings her fresh perspective and nuanced understanding of processing deep issues with children. If you’ve had a hard time moving forward from a challenging past or have in any way felt stuck in a victim mentality, this episode is for you. -------- Imma keep some healthy space from social for a bit and am bringing it on email.
