1:15.6	We're going to do the 53rd verse today.
1:21.4	Aadi Shankaracharya, having ascertained the nature of the self, Atman,
1:28.3	first by a series of intricate arguments to show us that we are not the body,
1:35.3	which we consider ourselves to be.
1:37.3	We consider, if you say what is the self, what is the Atman, who are you, and the body.
1:42.3	We don't say it outright. If somebody asks especially when we have been coming to Vedantah for a long time, we'll say,
1:48.4	oh, I am pure consciousness.
1:50.4	But though we may say it, we behave as if we were bodies.
1:56.4	So our conviction, our feeling is that we are this body.
2:02.6	Shankaracharya shows us by a series of arguments,
2:05.6	points out how this could not be true.
2:08.6	We are not this physical cage of flesh and blood.
