You may recall at the end of Revelation 5,

0:22.3

we had a scroll that was presented that had seven seals on it, and the question was, who was

0:27.0

worthy to break these seals and open this scroll? And the answer was the lamb who was slain,

0:32.2

who was now alive again, or Jesus. And so Jesus came forth, and we start breaking these seals here in Revelation 6. I watched as the

lamb opened the first of the seven seals, but I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice

0:45.6

like thunder, come. I looked and there was before me a white horse. It's rider held a bow and he was given

a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. "'When the lamb opened the second seal, "'I heard the second living creature say, come. "'Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. "'Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth "'and to make men slay each other. "'To him was given a large sword. "'When the lamb opened a third seal, I heard the third living creatures say, come. I looked, and there before me was a black horse. and by the wild beasts of the earth.

1:56.9

Apocalypse and Revelation are the same word, just from different root.

2:00.9

Apocalypse means to lift the veil or to reveal something.

2:05.9

And they're also known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

2:09.6

And they may sound familiar for those of you who like Clint Eastwood movies.

2:13.6

You may recognize the reference to the pale horse, because that was the movie

2:18.5

Pale Rider, comes from that particular verse. And at this point, we start to get a series of

2:24.7

calamities released on the earth. And in these particular four riders, we get war and we get famine

2:32.5

and we get plague.

2:36.4

Which horse is which doesn't matter quite as much.

2:40.4

We've got, it seems, a couple different horses that are war or conquest or whatever.
