The Bible Study Podcast, Episode 188. Today, the Bible Study podcast continues the study of Revelation with Revelation 4.

Today we get into the part of Revelation that I've been

fearing that I hope you have been looking forward to. That is the vision that John has where he is

in heaven and he is seeing things in heaven and he starts to see things that are yet to come.

So we started with the letters, but now we get into much more

vision. And Revelation 4 is a shorter chapter, and it's the throne in heaven. After this I looked,

and there before me was a door standing open in heaven, and the voice I had first heard speaking to me

like a trumpet, said, come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.

At once I was in the spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone

sitting on it, and the one who sat there had the appearance of Jasper and Cornelian.

A rainbow resembling an emerald encircled the throne, surrounding the throne were 24 other thrones, and seated on them were 24 elders.

They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their head.

From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.

Before the throne seven lamps were blazing.

These are the seven spirits of God.

Also before the throne was what

looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. And so John is caught up in the spirit and is

appearing in the throne room of God before the ancient of days before God himself. And God is

described here as sitting there with an appearance of Jasper and

Cornelian, rainbows and emeralds and circle the throne. Just this spectacularly bright,

awesome vision that John gets of God and of the throne and surrounding the throne are 24 elders.
