0:00.0 | Hello, everybody. I am here with Father Andrew Damik, who doesn't need much of an introduction, |
0:05.2 | but for those who don't know, he is head of ancient fate publishing content, and he just |
0:11.2 | published a new book called Arise, O God, the Gospel of Christ, Defeat of Demon, Sins, and |
0:16.7 | death. And I just finished the book. It's a very interesting and succinct introduction to all the |
0:22.1 | amazing stuff that he's been talking about with Father Stephen on the Lord of Spirit's podcast |
0:27.4 | and just kind of introducing people to a more cosmic and a more story version of the |
0:33.5 | salvation that Christ brings. And so I'm really happy to be able to talk about that with him right now. |
0:49.5 | This is Jonathan Pejot. |
0:51.7 | Welcome to the symbolic world. |

1:36.3 | and just trying to relate what the Orthodox Christian faith is to people, you know, for whatever |
1:40.7 | reason they might be interested in it. And there, as far as I know, at least in English, there, there isn't such a book that does that. |
1:49.3 | And so I had the idea of particularly framing it in terms of a lot of the things that we talk about in the Lord of the Spirit's podcast because not just to kind of, you know, promote the podcast or whatever, |
2:02.0 | but because that's what I actually believe the gospel is about, right? And so, you know, |
2:09.2 | the basic frame is that there is a cosmic war on and we are caught up in the midst of it. |
2:14.9 | We're kind of in the crossfire. And the gospel is what happens to us really in response to that war. |
2:23.3 | It's what God does in the midst of that war that has something to do with us as human beings. |
