This is Wayne Callan for Attitude magazine. Today's topic, Raise Your Child Social

IQ strikes a chord in many parents. Most of us would love for our child to have friends or one friend to be invited

to extracurricular activities and events by classmates to even just have fun with his or her peers.

ADHD medication may give a child the focus to participate in conversations or to be less impulsive,

but it won't supply the give and take skills needed for friendships.

We have with us today Dr. Christine Lang,

who is an expert on developing social skills and kids with special needs.

She is nationally certified in behavior analysis and the chairperson of the

Special Education Department at Mercy College. She will share strategies and tools to help

to sharpen and improve our kids ability to make and keep friends.

I'm really excited to be participating today.

And as we begin, we're going to start off by taking a look at these two videos and comparing

some early emerging social behaviors.

and I just want you to note any differences that you might see.
