Summary

Hello! The ‘right to play’ is recognised by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. How can we make sure all children have the time and space to play? Aled Hanson tells us about his experience of working at Flintshire Playscheme. Marianne Mannello from Play Wales talks about the pioneering Welsh play legislation. Then writer and researcher Tim Gill talks about how ‘child-friendly cities’ around the world design public space to make it easier and safer for children to play.

Plus volunteer Jenny Chigwende on how W12 Together in West London has supported the local community during the last 12 months.

going to be very warm next week. Going to be in the 20s. You're going to be wearing your short

swimming. Oh, so I think it reopens actually next week. Is there a number in terms of the

0:37.1

temperature in the water that you're waiting for it to hit before you can get those speedos back

1:06.0

to speak. I wasn't only doing, it wasn't cold, cold, cold, cold turkey. It was sort of, you know,

1:12.0

medium turkey on the cold showers. I think people are lost now, but I don't think of myself as

1:20.3

the type of broadcaster who can elicit a confession out of someone. But this is what I've just done

1:26.6

with you in the whole cold cold shower. No, no, I'm going to get back on the training. The book's been,

1:33.2

the book and my work and everything has been quite overwhelming, but you know, have you got any tips

1:38.3

for me? I'm reading the audio book into the tape next week. I did a chapter of a book once,

1:46.2

years ago. It's quite good fun. Did you like it at school in an English lesson when you'd get

1:52.0

picked on by the teacher to read out loud? Not really everyone would snigger. Why? Well, I don't know,

1:58.7

but you know, I was imagining them sniggering. But you have such great delivery. You have that

2:02.3

thespian side to you that comes out every now and again. Friends, Romans and countrymen.
