Hello everybody. Welcome to episode 184 of Luke's English podcast. This is the second in a

two-part series called Luke's D-Day Diary. What happened is a few days ago I went to a town called

Com in Normandy in order to commemorate the commemorating the D-Day anniversary. I also went to see a special charity performance by Eddie

And in part one, you hear me talking about finding my accommodation,

and what that meant, talking about the story of my grandfather called

Dennis who is 94 this this year and when he was 24 years old he actually took

part in the D-Day landings. He was an officer in charge of 35 men, 35 soldiers and

he was one of the British soldiers who travelled across the English Channel from England with a massive armada of other ships from all around the world,

with soldiers from the United States, from Canada, from

Britain and from many other countries. So Dennis, my grandfather, landed on Sword Beach in Normandy in order to invade mainland Europe and

fight back against the Nazis. He was thirty he was twenty four years old in charge of 35 men and really I sort of owe a lot to Dennis.

So in this episode, you find me, I think the last thing that you heard in part one of this was me in a car after having just seen Edi I'm

Why was I so excited?

Because I'd actually met Edi I've met him in his dressing room, I shook hands with him and kind of hung

out with him and some of his friends and I was just on the way to go and actually have

dinner, sit down and have dinner with Eddie and some of his friends.
