In October of 1997, part of one of his victims, her torso, was found in a marsh near Eureka.

She had been stabbed 27 times, cut down the middle, and had her head, arms, legs, and breasts removed.

Her arm was found on a beach later, but the rest of her body was never located.

Her identity remains unknown, but Ford confessed that she was a hitchhiker that he picked up.

At the time of her body's discovery, police had no leads on who could have murdered this woman.

Now, a year later, they had the man sitting right in front of them.
