Alina Chanani have been able to put together a book that without solving the problem

takes the reader through all the evidence that can be assembled

and a lot of that evidence comes from unpaid people doing things in their spare time.

And for me, that's been one of the fascinating parts of this project.

That finding out where SARS-CoV-2 came from is a really important issue.

We need to know, to prevent the next pandemic, and nothing else.

And yet, we have not been able to rely on government actors,

Western governments, Chinese governments,

to give us sufficient information to solve that problem.

Nor have we been able to rely on mainstream media on the whole with some very honorable exceptions.

They've shown surprising new little curiosity about this topic, frankly.

Nor has the scientific establishment been much helped again with some honorable exceptions.

Quite a lot of them take the view that we'd rather not find out.
