Today we celebrate my daughter,

Lady Mariah's 13th birthday. We also celebrated it yesterday. You see, her birthday is on February 29th, which only happens every four years. This is not one of those years, so instead of skipping

her birthday, she just celebrates it two days in a row, February 28th, and March 1st.

So don't feel too sorry for her for only having a real birthday every four years, since every other

year she gets two birthdays. So anyway, happy birthday Lady Mariah again. When Mariah was younger,

I used to take her out for what we call daddy days, usually around her birthday or baptism anniversary.

In fact, I used to do this for all my kids.

Even though most of them are teenagers now, I was thinking that I really should restart this habit.

The point of a daddy day was to give each kid their own day of the year where they would get my undivided attention,

set aside daddy days with your kids. It's an opportunity to teach our kids that even though we as

their earthly dads are limited in our time and space and

we're not perfect, we are doing our best to introduce them to God the Father, who is a perfect

father. They can have a daddy day with God the Father any time they want because God is not
