Summary

On this weeks episode I'm joined by my dear friend Dan Infalt. If you know Dan I don't need to say anything. If you do not, well, you're in for a treat.

Dan is the founder and host of the wildly popular HUNTING BEAST. A legendary media outlet that focuses solely on strategy and tactics for hunting down mature whitetail bucks.

Dan is one of the better humans you're ever likely to encounter and on this weeks show we are breaking down the HUNTING BEAST'S approach in the woods.

Thanks for listening!

What's going on?

1:10.2

I'm glad we have a chance to talk.

1:27.5

I haven't talked to you in months. I actually, and I haven't talked to you since this upcoming deer season was really drawing close, so I have kind of really no idea what you've got going on. Are you on to any particular deer? Are you hunting any new ground? What do you got going?

1:30.0

Yeah.

1:32.2

I'm onto a large 12-planter, but I haven't hunted him for three years.

1:38.4

I did find one of his veterinarian spring scouting that I'm pretty sure he was living in pretty heavy early season

1:47.2

I got in there uh it's just a little patch of uh high ground in cat tails it's got some dogwood

1:54.4

and open up a little bit so I have to think it's before too late I think it's probably more

2:10.6

pre-ride but the trouble was getting out there was you almost get forced to go through the bed and to get to where you

2:19.0

can hunt the deer and they're going the same direction you are coming in from the public they're

2:23.3

going towards private on the other hand so i i uh in july i uh when i cut a remote path through the cat pails through knee-deep water in a huge circle

2:38.7

around back to this point and there's only one tree you can get into and it's but as big

2:46.5

around as my leg and I can get up about 10 feet. So I got everything ready in July.

2:56.2

And the reason I picked July is because

2:58.2

otherwise the cattales just grow in where you were, you know what I mean?

3:02.7

Yeah, right. They regenerate really fast.

3:05.0

You can't really intense cattails. You can't just, you know, walk wherever you want. You just can't, you can't push through the stuff. You can maybe do it for 10 yards and you'd be, you'd sell on a freight train. Right. So, um, once you cut a trails there permanently, otherwise you have to use the deer trails and all the deer trails led to that veterinary. So, um, I did,
