Hi, I'm Olympian Carrie Tellelson and welcome to the C-Tolly Run podcast.

Today is our fourth episode remembering Gabe Grunwald.

Gabe was a good friend of mine, a professional runner just like me, a rare cancer advocate,

and founder of the Brave Like

Gabe Foundation. She passed away in June 2019 at the age of 32 from adenoid cystic

carcinoma, ACC. Her legacy with the foundation continues to inspire people to keep running on

hope while also working to find better, more effective treatments

for ACC and other types of rare cancers.

The last four weeks we have celebrated five different people on C.TALY Run, and they were all

connected to Gabe.

Today would have been Gabe's 34th birthday.

It is also Gabriel Grunwald Day here in Minnesota. So lots of smiles, but also lots of

sadness. We miss you, Gabe. You have given us all so much hope, and we are so thankful for your bravery.

During times like this, we need hope and bravery. And we thank you, Gabe, for leading by example.

Today I ran my Brave Like Game 5K during my long run.

It wasn't as fast, but it sure was fun.

Thinking of all that you have done and all the awesomeness that the Brave Light Gave Foundation is doing

to raise awareness for rare cancer research gave me that extra pep in my step.
