Hi I'm Olympian Carrie Tullifson and welcome to the C-Tolly Run podcast today we have the second of four episodes remembering Gabe Groomwald. And today I interview one of the nicest people around and Gabe's best friend, Ladia

Albertson Junkins.

Latia said that she loves to run.

Any distance, any terrain, any weather, any time of the day, she's down for a run.

Many of her favorite running memories are with her best friend and running soulmate Gabe

Grunwald, a professional runner and rare cancer advocate who lived with adenoid cystic carcinoma

for 10 years before she passed away on June 11, 2019 at age 32.

So yes, today we are celebrating Gabe's heavenly birthday. Ladia grew up in Minnesota.

She went to the University of Minnesota where she and Gabe were teammates and after college

Latia has continued to find joy and racing on the roads and on the trails.

In this episode we talk about Gabe a lot, which is what we wanted to do, and we shared some fun memories, which always brought a smile.

We hear about Latia's running career in her love story with her sweet husband Adam.

She talks about running the Olympic trials this past February, and she also shares some of her memories from running the Western States 100-miler.
