Today's webinar is devoted to the many parents and their children struggling with writing at school and at home.

For several years now, several times a week,

parents have written in desperately looking for suggestions to needen up their child's handwriting

or to improve their ability to write essays on tests or on assignments.

The common refrains are, his handwriting is so sloppy the teacher can't read it or he doesn't know what to write about or get started on the writing assignment

Few of us know how to tackle these challenges, and that goes for the schools as well, many of which don't recognize dysgraphia, a learning disability that affects handwriting, spelling, and the ability to put thoughts down on paper.

Kendra Wagner, on the other hand, knows all about dysgraphia and writing challenges.

She is a reading and writing specialist who is certified in several programs for

dyslexia and dysgraphia. She also works with schools to keep everyone up to

speed on best practices in literacy. Kendra will give us strategies and approaches today

to help children better express themselves.
