Hello everyone welcome back to FitBuddy Happy Joints. Today I want to talk about how to improve

0:05.4

Sarah Beller neuroplasticity with exercise. The brain has incredible ways of rewiring itself. With certain experiences and

0:15.5

challenges and stimulus, the brain draws new connections and literally creates new

0:21.4

neural networks inside itself.

0:24.3

This incredible concept is called neuroplasticity and can be used to improve brain health.

0:31.1

There are many ways to improve neuroplasticity, reading, gaining new experiences, learning

0:37.1

a new language, and exercise can also improve neuroplasticity.

0:42.1

So today we'll talk about how cognitive and physical

0:44.8

decline starts around the age of 30 and what to do to keep your brain in your

0:49.3

body healthy as you age. Specifically we're going to talk about a portion of your brain called your

to live independently and stay strong and avoid falling.

here's why. So someone who is older and weaker will also likely have poor

1:28.8

coordination and weaker bones. Not only are their muscles weaker, but their bones also grow more fragile.

1:35.2

This makes it harder to get around and live an independent life, which can increase their

1:39.4

risk of falling.

1:41.1

If they fall, they're more likely to break a bone since their bones have grown more fragile,
