Summary

I recently was asked how I became someone who works out every day... and I don't think I have ever talked about this on the podcast, so here we go! This week I am talking about how I started working out, what that looked like, and how I became someone who consistently works out every week without having a second thought about it.

Oh, yeah. Hello, everybody and welcome to the Burn Fat with Your Brain podcast. I hope you're having a great week. I had something come up a couple

0:23.2

times that I was like, oh, I don't think I've ever recorded a podcast on this. And so it came

0:28.2

up in a coaching call. And then it came up when I posted something on TikTok, someone requesting

0:33.5

that I do a podcast to explain how I made the transition from working out for weight loss

0:41.2

and burning calories to working out every single day for my mental health. And really, I even

0:49.7

said that wrong, going from somebody who never worked out to somebody who now works out every single day.

0:56.6

So, like, how did I make that transition? And the answer to that question is I stopped working

1:03.2

out for weight loss and I started working out to support my mental health. This distinction is

1:08.9

very important because I always hated working out so

1:13.8

much. I hated it. And of course, there are other things that contributed to that, like my

1:18.9

expectation for what I needed to do and how often I needed to do it. And it was just something that I

1:25.7

loathed doing. So something I want to say is I never, ever consider

1:30.3

working out to burn calories. That's not even a sentence that runs through my brain anymore,

1:35.4

which is funny because I tell people that a lot of your thoughts aren't ever going to go away,

1:40.8

like thoughts that you're trying to change and get rid of, they probably won't ever go completely

1:45.0

away. But this is one that doesn't even make it into my head anymore. And I think it's just because of

1:52.0

the way that I see movement now. Because burning calories was never a compelling enough reason

1:59.6

for me in the past. and it isn't compelling now.

2:02.4

I never, like, I have an aura ring. It does track stuff. It's the least helpful feature of an

2:08.6

aura ring, in my opinion. I love it for the other data that it tracks, but the activity tracking

2:13.7

is definitely its least helpful feature that it has. So it does track it. I never look at that.

2:20.4

I don't even look at my steps that I've walked unless I'm like on a trip. I just don't have that
