Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. I don't know if this happened to you or is happening to you, but when I was a kid,

0:18.0

I was told over and over again that I should pray for patients it would make me a better person.

0:25.0

Now mind you, I've always been an observant person, and I could tell that a lot of the people giving me this advice,

0:32.0

even the adults, weren't very patient themselves.

0:36.4

But the other thing I was told that if you pray for patience, you're going to have a lot of

0:40.0

trials and tribulations because that's the way God teaches us to be patient.

0:45.8

So I did it.

0:46.8

I prayed to God for patience.

0:50.5

Now I have to admit, I don't know if there's a direct correlation that God's going to basically give us

and we start conditioning ourselves to do that which we're focused on.

1:31.0

So my hope is at the end of this podcast you'll be willing to

1:34.9

either pray for or at least work towards being more patient. I think you'll see

1:39.4

a lot of wisdom, power, and benefit in being patient. But why does patients matter? Well if you're

1:48.0

like me you probably live with other people and you have things you want to get done unless you're perhaps living

1:55.6

on a desert island or up in the woods, but then you're probably not listening to this podcast

2:00.9

very much either.

2:02.4

But if we are engaging with the world, we have what we would

2:06.7

call expectations. We like to get things done and we're hopeful they're going to go a certain

2:12.0

way.
