JC, Brian, and Nate continue the conversation about Discipleship with Dr. Steve Pettit. Dr. Pettit got his M.A. in Pastoral Studies at Bob Jones University. He went on to become the President of Bob Jones University where he served from 2014 - 2023. Steve also served as the director of Northland Camp and Conference Center from 2002 to 2011. In recognition of his contributions, Bob Jones University, Northland Baptist Bible College, and Ambassador Baptist College all awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1997. Dr. Pettit is passionate about Discipleship. Presently, he utilizes his gifts as a compelling communicator and expositor of Scripture with a focus on leadership. He travels as an itinerant evangelist with a gospel bluegrass musical team. Steve and his wife, Terry, have four adult children and five grandchildren. 0:25.1	How you doing? Man, I'm doing fantastic. I actually had some medical treatment. The result came out

0:41.9	We've got a lot of new faces, young adults coming. I've been really excited. Nathan was there
0:46.9	to kick off the series at the first of this month because I was out of the pulpit with those

0:55.5	job. I actually sent him a text after and I said, you didn't just hit the ball and you didn't
1:01.8	just hit the ball out of the park. But like there was no cover on the ball. You ever see,
1:06.2	you remember when you were growing up and somebody would hit an old ball. Oh yeah.
1:09.5	I said when you got finished, there was nothing but a ball of rubber bands laying on the ground and the cover was beside of it.
1:15.7	So anyway, I'm doing fantastic.
1:17.8	Denise and I are now empty nesters.
1:20.7	And I have cried and cried and cried and cried.
1:25.3	I have to keep my girls' doors to their rooms closed.
1:29.5	I'm trying to cook every dinner I think they love just so I can entice them back over to
1:35.1	the house for dinner.
1:37.0	And it's a new season.
1:39.5	You know, being an empty nester is weird, fellas.
1:42.1	JC, you'll be there in about 200 years when your 14th child grows up
1:46.7	but um you know it's it's really a weird season and at the same time i'm starting to pray through
1:55.7	i couldn't do this initially but i'm starting to pray through god help me see the beauty in this
