the flawed idea that if you just keep doing something you'll get better at it.

Now, before I jump into the problem with this thought,

let's clarify something.

If you do something, you are going to get better than if you didn't do it. So the

you that has done this thing compared to the you who has not done this thing, the first version will be better than the second.

That's pretty obvious and clear.

But what then happens if you just keep doing it?

Do you keep getting better?

Well, no.

And that's where the problem comes in,

because I think that we all kind of internally believe that if we just keep doing something,

we'll eventually get better at it. We'll naturally improve by the process of doing it.
