Carrie Wilkerson crushes this one.

And like everybody needs to hear this because we're so distracted these days.

And she's talking in this clip about being present.

She's also talking about that ever elusive thing that we're all trying to find called work life balance.

And when I first heard this, I thought about the way that I used to be.

And it wasn't even that long ago really when I would, you know, really be engaged really be cranking away at something I was trying to get done.

And then the email will come in.

And I would stop being engaged and I will return that email then I will come back to being engaged and then somebody else would email.

And then I return that email come back to being engaged cranking away.

And then a Facebook message will come in.

Then Instagram something will come in and then somebody would text me a 10th or day.

I'm talking about what are you doing?

Like what do you think I'm doing? I'm working, right?

And so I became far more productive.

I cut that stuff out because what I was finding is that at the end of the day when I look back,

I wasn't getting anything done.

And you cannot have work life balance when you're not getting your work done because you're allowing yourself to be distracted by every single thing that comes in.

We got to shut down the email.
