| 0:00.0 | Yo, today's QOD is it's not the color of your skin. It's the color of your mind. Here we go |
| 0:30.0 | Welcome back to the quarter of the day show. I'm your host, Sean Crox and a |
| 0:36.0 | Sean Crox and calm. We got Reverend Ike on the show wrapping up our throwback |
| 0:40.8 | week. I hope you've been enjoying this week's episodes. You know, I'm reading a |
| 0:45.0 | book this week. I just started a couple days ago. Not done with it, but I will |
| 0:48.4 | recommend it. It is called The Self Delusion by Guy named Burns. In this book |
| 0:55.9 | really stood out to me because I love neuroscience and I love |
| 0:58.6 | learning about where the self image comes from or identity comes from. So the |

| 1:45.0 | young people. What were the stories that we heard from others? What were the |
| 1:51.1 | stories that we heard from authoritative sources such as the media? What was |
| 1:57.1 | the narrative that they were telling during these very impressionable times of |
| 2:02.7 | our lives? And the thing about it is, I think if I remember correctly, these |
| 2:08.0 | stories become very stable by about the age of 12. And after that age, it is |
| 2:14.8 | very challenging to change these stories. Essentially, like as we're holding on |
| 2:19.5 | to these stories, we become almost like story writers where we edit things out |
| 2:26.9 | of the story that don't match the narrative of ourselves and the narrative of |
