profession of faith, a confession of the one true God? Because after all, we make these

petitions at Christ's behest. It is after all his prayer. We make these petitions and we are saying

The Endless Uses of the Lord's Prayer. John, welcome back.

Thanks a lot, Todd. It's good to be with you. You say what the church actually

prays forms the confession, profession, and proclamation of the church. What does that mean?

Well, the first thing that we notice is that Jesus didn't give this prayer to an individual,

but he gave it to those who comprised his church such that it was during his earthly

sojourn. We see it isn't a me, my eye prayer, but it is an hour and us prayer, which is why in Latin,

it's known as the potternoster, the hour-father prayer. It turns out to be it's a prayer for the church,

it's something that church prays. It also declares in the hearing of the brethren,

it's content. In this way, it's not entirely unlikely of apostles or the knife being freed.
