And I'm L'Orian McKenna. A lot of our listeners ask about managing finances when you're a professional creative or emerging writer want to be

creative manifestor person so we brought in an expert to discuss this with. Paco de Leon.

Paco is an author, illustrator, podcast host, and the founder of the Hell Yeah

Group and a bookkeeping agency for creatives called Hell Yeah Bookkeeping. In addition to her book Finance for the People

her work has been featured in the New York Times, Time magazine, and Bloomberg.

Paco's work focuses on overcoming discomfort, fear, and shame around finances.

How was your week? It was good. The highlight of my week was getting a chance to talk to the person who won a consult with me at the Austin Film Festival party we had for the screenwriting life.

So it was really cool to hear his ideas and help him decide what he was going to send to me to work with me on.

So, you know, I like to dig a little deep.

I think he was a little surprised.

I did like a little mini workshop with them, you know, what do you want?

What's your big dream? So I could help him figure out like which version of what he wanted to work me on. So that was really, really fun and things like that are always really inspiring for me because I can get really lost in my own drama with all of my projects

where they are and what am I doing but then talking to another writer right the point of the

show you were not alone sort of reminds me that we're all in that space.
