Faith separated from our cultural reality and engagement is only a

theory. It's a classroom discussion and I assure you Jesus didn't come to the earth and die on a cross

to set up little groups of people, little units for theoretical, theological debate.

That makes no sense to me.

If we compartmentalize our time and our lives

into church time and my time, it's a false construct. It's not biblical, it's not even smart. It isn't

derived from scripture nor the experience of the church through history. Our faith is

intended to impact how we spend our time, our energy, our resources, and to shape our aspirations for our future.

We cannot separate our faith from the world we live in or it's a dead

faith.

We're in the midst of a discussion of faith and courage. I don't believe you'll arrive

at the destination you were created for. In fact, I don't believe you'll make heaven without

both faith and courage. In fact, I think courage is more important than having your theology appropriately lined up.

I don't think any of us have perfect theology, but I don't think you'll finish the course that God has called you to without courage.

And I'm certain you won't be able to do it without faith because my Bible says that without

faith it's impossible to please God.
