about why accomplishing things is so hard sometimes. Hey everyone, I just wanted to pop in here today

programs. And this seems to be a common one that I haven't been coaching on lately. And

there's nothing wrong with anybody that I coach or anybody that I'm working with or even myself.

We all just really have normal human brains.

Our brains are designed to, one, save energy and two, protect us from pain.

Okay, so accomplishing goals, it requires that you expend energy, not save it,

and it also requires that you get uncomfortable, which is

not what our body wants to do. Our body and our brain, they want to protect us from feeling

pain and discomfort. That is painful. We don't like it. Okay. So I like to think about it like this.

If you want that truck for your 16th birthday what energy

are you going to have to expend well maybe you're going to have to get up early every morning for

work this summer right maybe it requires you to sit in the hot sun life guarding all summer. If that's your summer

job, that's uncomfortable, and that requires energy. Getting out of bed in the morning when you are

tired is ultimate discomfort. I know. I am human and love my sleep just as much as you guys do. I love

sleep. Another example is that if you want to lose weight,

you have to get uncomfortable and put your tennis shoes on and walk out the door and start moving

your body and depriving your stomach and brain of all the things that you want to eat that are not

healthy for you. Anything that you want in life,

it is going to require those two things. It's going to require energy and it's going to require

that you get uncomfortable. If you want to get into a certain college, there will be activities
