Today I'm very excited and honored to have as a special guest Mr. Bruce Bastion.

He's probably most commonly known as one of the co-founders of Word Perfect Corporation,

which in his day was the premier word processor provider on the personal computer.

But it was a major player in the computer industry, especially in those early years.

Bruce Bastion has been a champion of the arts, the performing arts, not just in Utah, but across the country.

He's the founder of the Bruce Bastion Foundation, and also he's done a lot of work for LGBT issues,

for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues.

And he also was raised a member of the LDS Church.

And so today we're going to talk about all of that, hopefully.

Well, I thought it would make sense to begin just by talking about your early years as a Mormon.

Tell us about growing up.

I grew up in Idaho, Twin Falls, Idaho.

I'm the fifth of six children.

I spent the first, although we lived in the city,

1:48.0

I basically spent the first six years of my life on a little farm outside of Twin Falls.
