This week's topic, the Green New Deal. The Green New Deal was once a glimmer in Jill Stein's eye, but now thanks to the insurgent sunrise movement and congressional superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the idea of a Green New Deal to solve the climate crisis has entered the mainstream.

Congress people are signing on by the dozen. Presidential candidates

are shoring up their progressive bona fides by voicing approval. It might just get its own

congressional committee. But what exactly is a green new deal? We bring on today someone who knows

what they're talking about. Stephen O'Hanlon of the

Sunrise Movement to help answer the question. But before we get to Stephen, we who don't know

what we're talking about. Yes, we who don't know what we're talking about are going to talk a bit for a few minutes about the political implications of the Green New Deal.

And then we'll throw it to Stephen to talk about some of the details.
