So hello and welcome to episode 17 of the James Smith podcast.

Today, you're going to be talking about quite a tough subject and that subject is going to be drugs.

Now, it's a tough one for me to talk about because by doing so, I put a target on my head.

But I almost feel that the repercussions of saying nothing could outweigh,

you know, saying something and expressing how I feel about this subject and there's some topics that I kind of want to talk about.

And what I'm going to give out today is the honesty which I wish someone had given me maybe earlier on in my journey.

And I've always been very honest with everyone who's followed me and I've always been very transparent.

And I don't feel today that should change at all.

Now, I've not hidden really anything from my following and I've never changed my tune and I've never really become that PG fitness person who had to get on with everyone and, you know, bit as tongue in certain situations.

So today, I'll be talking about drugs, performance drugs and recreational drugs because quite frankly, I'm sick of bodybuilders who are up to their eyeballs and so are claiming their natural promoting branch chain amino acids.

And if you go around any fitness expo and you see these people, yeah, you know, I'm a natural athlete and it's very apparent you're not.

And as someone who's taken animal experience before it becomes even more obvious to me, who's taken them and who hasn't.

Now, there are some people on that kind of line that we're not sure about, but they're not the ones I'm talking about.

There's a lot of deceit and a lack of transparency with these useless supplements that are sold like branch chain amino acids and you open any fitness magazine and verted commas and you'll see a plethora of these everywhere.

And I'm sick of vegans preaching the health life, talking about plant power and how, you know, this whole holistic lifestyle, but then they're banging three grams of coke and cut up their nose each weekend.

And they have the audacity to say to someone with an omnivorous diet that they shouldn't eat meat is double standards and it's not something that I'm willing to remain quiet about.

Now, obviously we are aware that obesity is killing people now a very morbid statement is that people with AIDS have a longer life expectancy in those with obese.

Now, that's known about and that's in the mainstream in the last few days, cancer research UK even put out a campaign, which is saying that obesity is a cause of cancer too, which in itself is fat shaming people and not making that situation any better.

There's no solution that's handed out there and it's not the right direction because it helps no one.

Then if we were to look at mental health, which again, I did the podcast on before these disorders are on the rise, they're not slowing down either.

We got self-esteem issues, we got self-worth issues, we got self-love issues.

And probably one of the biggest that I feel that I can talk about is how comparison is the thief of joy.
