Today I'm going to talk about marriage, about headship and submission.

Since we live in a world that is so hostile to Christian marriage,

I thought it might be a good topic just a little encouragement.

And why is it that the world is so hostile about this?

Well, because it's a powerful picture of harmony and love and a culture that is given over to sin.

It's never been popular with unbelievers to obey the Bible.

It's just never been popular. So don't try to win the world's approval with this.

The Christian faith is not a movement or a fad or a sect. It's an ancient faith.

And it's not affected in its fundamentals by the times we live in.

Technology changes. So now we have podcasts, though my grandparents certainly didn't have that opportunity or technology for such things.

But the Bible has endured through the rise and fall of many a movement that has tried to take it down.

And the Christian faith has many enemies and always will this is not new.

Christ was crucified by people who hated him.

And if they hated our Lord, then they will hate us his followers. And this has always been the case.

So don't be surprised like this is something new.

So our views as Christian women and certainly my view of Christian marriage and the roles of men and women have never been based on what I think or what I think will bring the world's approval and praise.

Besides if that were the case, if I were trying to please the world, it's always a moving target.

And the world may not ever be happy with me if I said, OK, OK, I'll do it your way. There would always be something else.

And once I had been taken up as it were, then they would just focus their attention on someone else trying to get them to compromise.

No, we Christians stand against the world, but we don't just do that to be contrary or to infuriate our opponents.

No, we are actually standing for the Bible and the Bible is against the world and always has been.
