Hello everyone welcome back to Fitbody Happy Joins. Today I want to talk about length of workouts and how long your workouts need to be and then we're going to talk about if you can divide one longer workout into separate workouts throughout your day and still see the same results.

So if you have been a consumer in the fitness industry, which we all have been intentionally or

unintentionally, you've seen advertisements that claim that you can do these

short 10 minute workouts and still see results. And if you've seen these advertisements you've likely been

skeptical and you've been skeptical for good reason we've been taught that

workouts need to be at least 45 minutes long and anything less than that isn't effective.

So what's the truth?

Can 10 minute workouts really be effective or how long do your workouts need to be

in order to drive results? Here's the simple truth. It's less about the

length of your workouts and more about the stimulus to your muscles. The diet

industry has shaped our idea of what's effective because they're trying to sell us products.

For example, if someone is trying to sell an online fitness product to a busy person,

they know that if they promise that you can tone your body in less than 10 minutes a day and they

show a lean person doing exercises with little or no equipment, you're more likely to buy

that because it fits within your lifestyle, it fits within what you're more likely to buy that because it fits within your lifestyle if it's

within what you're looking for whether or not that's actually an effective

workout is less important it's more that you put your credit card information in on the

contrary if a fitness studio, let's say, is selling someone on a fitness experience,

they know that their buyer is not going to buy a 10-minute fitness class.

They are looking for an experience. They're driving to the

studio, they're getting ready, they're finding a babysitter, whatever it may be, and

they need a longer workout in order to buy that. So they're going to sell a 45 to an hour long,
