There's this emerging genre of books that I'm very interested in.

It's more just understanding the country.

Yeah. I bought this ridiculously big book about Charles DeGal,

but I'm never actually going to read, but it's Vibes, so I keep it.

And it's just, yes, the court recently.

It's like, I have a certain idea of France.

And I think your books are important because what people should be trying to do.

Yeah. When it comes to this theory, when it comes to this moment, it's not,

hey, here's, I read the wildland and here's like the 10 policy fixes

that will make everyone feel better.

It's more, hey, how can you actually sit down and understand the country right now?

Because the country is incredibly confusing.

I'm not going to say this to fly to you, but that is like the single most important insight

that anybody has gotten from this book in the entire time I've been.

And it's a big, but you've hit on something like really huge

because in a way, look, this question of sort of, you get, there's a,

there's a literary problem.

And then I think there's an intellectual problem with having the like,

at the end of the book, here's the chapter with the 10 easy fixes

to get us out of an existential crisis as a nation.

I mean, the literary problem is that it looks pretty dishonest
