Well, it's finally official.

Murder is legal in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Murder is legal if you can afford to throw everyone else under the bus, people to pay for you.

And there is not always justice in the court

system, which shouldn't be news to people who like to follow true crime. Because obviously,

we have a whole segment of true crime that's looking at wrongful convictions. What you hear

less of is wrongful acquittals. Yeah, but they happen. And Alice has made a really good point in the past, which I just thought was brilliant.

I'd never really thought of.

But it's such a paradigm shift.

And I have now stolen this point and made it in various other podcasts that that question about

if you were accused of a crime, what attorney would you want?

And you said, I wouldn't want an attorney.

I'd want a really good documentarian or a really good publicist.

And it's true.

In today's day and age, money can buy good attorneys.

And obviously, Karen Reid had very good attorneys.

But what was far more important in this case was the media apparatus that she had.

And whether you think it was astro-turf that turned into grassroots, there was always grassroots,

it was grassroots supported by various talking heads, either way, it was incredibly effective.
