Picture this, like, I know you're also the daughter of Iranian immigrants,

but me being the daughter of Mexican immigrants.

My parents lived in survival mode. They didn't have a lot of

money. Their biggest priority was just keeping the lights on and in the fact

that they were able to do that, that was success in America.

So that's what I thought was being fiscally responsible, paying my bills on time and not getting

evicted. I didn't realize that you're supposed to be building your net worth, paying off debt, investing, all these things that are so important for our financial wellness.
