How are you guys. We're good. How are you? I'm doing good. It's good to hear you're doing well. Thank you for having me. Of course we're so glad. Yeah, we met you like him so many years ago in North Carolina. That's probably like 20.

0:18.0

Like 17, 18 probably. Yeah, wild. I know. I am. I'm just at the beach. We have like our mid season break. So I was like wanted to get away, but didn't want to get on a flight. Basically, it was how I was feeling. I was like, I'm saving my Mexico trip for after season right now. I'm like, we've just been the front half of our season. It's been front loaded with travel. I feel like I've been living out of suitcases for like two and a half months. So I was

0:48.0

just like, I just want to get away. Nice little car ride. Yes. Yes. So how do you relax? Like, what do you do when you're on vacation? Oh, well, first of all, I have to like give myself permission to relax, which is like step one, which this time as I got older, it's a little bit easier, but I find that it's hard to feel like it's I'm fine. Like day one or two consistent days of like giving myself off, but like three or four, I'm like,

1:18.8

what are you doing? You're going to lose fitness, yada yada. So, um, but typically to relax, I also like have a, um, like 10 year old dog who is like my baby. So I've been away from him a lot. And I was like, I also want to go somewhere that he can go with me. So came to the beach.

1:36.0

Um, love going on like morning walks afternoon walks. Like, um, I love to read. I love reading. Like I will crush books, um, which allows me to kind of enter into a different world and like, be out of this one. Like, in a way. So I love doing that.

1:53.7

Um, yeah, I would say I can also like binge watch TV. Like I can be trashy and stay in my pajamas all day and just like, absolutely binge TV.

2:06.8

What are you doing? Anything right now that you'd recommend for watching anything? Oh my God. Okay. So I'm watching Blackbird. Have you heard of that? No.

2:15.9

It's on Apple TV. It is like I clicked on it and I was like, oh, let's see what this is. And there's like three episodes off right now. I think the fourth one comes out on Friday. It is so good. It's so good. It's basically like based on a true story.

2:32.6

And this guy is like in prison for being a serial killer. But he's basically they don't have like any evidence and he's about to be let out because his like testimony, they believe was like, was that persuaded or something like that. Whatever that word is. And, um, or pressured into like confessing. And so they put in a like, um, is it like a mole or something? Like they put this other

3:00.9

into into prison with them to try to befriend them. It's really good. And then I think it's what's the other one that's out. I think it's on Hulu and it's like under the

3:13.0

under the siege of religion or something like that. Have you heard of that? Under the banner of heaven? Yes.

3:22.4

That's it. That's a little different. I fucked up that whole title.

3:31.1

That was a part of the title. I don't even know if we were on a game show. And I was like, had to give you like a string of words to describe one thing and completely put it in. You're like, I got it anyway. I'm like, thank God.

3:44.7

Oh, it's funny. That's fun though. I mean, it's good that you're learning to relax and you're able to do it because it is hard. I feel like so many athletes, like it's, you feel like you are all for three days. And you're like, I'm going to lose everything. But really, realistically, you're not like, you need those.

4:00.4

Yeah. It's like mentally and physically to just like chill. Yeah. Yeah. I'm happy you brought it up, Shannon, because I was curious, like, how do you deal with that during the season when you're playing? Like, how do you avoid burnout? Because it must be so easy to just like, go, go, go and do everything.

4:16.4

Um, I will say I think I'm much better in season because it's kind of Taylor. Like you worked, you've worked in like an off day or two off, you know, like you have, you play.

4:28.4

And then you have a recovery session and then you'll have like a full off day, which I think also I forgot to say that I like have really enjoyed doing yoga.

4:40.4

I've worked like pot yoga back into my kind of routine. And I think for a long time, I didn't like yoga because I didn't like sitting with myself long enough probably or like in like having to be still.

4:55.4

It really made me like uncomfortable. And then I'd be in there like competing with Becky on the mat next to me, like, why can she hold this? And I can't like, I have professional athletes, like, this is horrifying.

5:07.4

And now I go and it's like somewhere to just like be for like, you know, 45 minutes to an hour. And I like have really enjoyed that. I think it allows me to like, one, my body for it's really good, but my mind is at ease.

5:21.4

And I will say like as I've gotten older, I've become a lot better at like giving myself permission to like shut down a bit, but I will say like during see like when we're in your week to week, it's a bit easier because you can kind of like you have your routine set.

5:37.4

I know that like going into the gym these days will get me to hear and then we'll have a game and then I have a few days off, which I can like, it's a lot easier for me to turn off for one day than it is for consecutive days.
