The backstory includes the nature of the environment we grew up in. When religious or spiritual expectations are placed on the shoulders of a child, pressure builds within that child. And when that pressure inevitably leads to a bursting, what results is always a mixture of dignity and depravity. Both. 0:39.3	Reed, it's good to see you. Good to see you, man. Let's start before we get into your story, let's just start a little bit about like for you
0:49.8	how did you get interested in story work?
0:53.4	Like what prompted you to begin to engage your story?
0:57.7	Yeah, you know, I think that really began back in 2007. I actually found myself in Fort Collins where you
1:07.0	currently reside at a ministry conference that Dan Alder happened to be speaking at as a guest speaker and he was coming to speak to our staff of ministry people about the cost of pursuing stories and inviting us to consider what that looks like as a
1:29.0	ministry to pursue the death and resurrection and ascension of Jesus and other people's stories.
1:36.0	And it really got a hook in me. And I'll never forget his teaching around the Father coming to Adam and Eve asking them where are you?
1:47.6	What is true of your heart? Here's an all-knowing, all-seeing God asking them.
1:52.1	Where are you?
1:53.0	And then later on in Genesis coming to Hagar
1:56.0	and asking her, where are you from and where are you going?
2:00.0	Essentially asking her, what are the desires of your heart.
2:04.0	And that really got its hooks in me as I was living as a professional Christian inviting people
2:11.7	to consider what it meant to follow Jesus.
2:15.0	And so much of our context was inviting people to think about actually leaving their lives to follow Jesus instead of being curious about
2:26.0	where he was already present in their lives as image bears of God. And so I got
