Welcome to Podrunner and the first of a three-part speed training series called Bevel Up.

Hey everybody I'm Steve Boyette, and this new series is designed to condition you to run at a competitive pace of 180 beats per minute.

But it's a great tool for anyone who wants to work on increasing

0:24.9

overall speed.

The way it works is pretty simple.

0:29.0

After a three minute warm-up, you'll have three minute runs at 160, 165, 170, and 175 BPM.

0:39.4

In between each of those runs will be a one minute burst at 180 BPM. In the next two bevel up

0:47.0

mixes the runs will get shorter and the bursts will get longer. If speed training is new to you I recommend doing each bevel up

0:55.6

mix three times in a week before moving on to the next, working on getting further

1:00.5

into the mix each time.

As with all multi-speed mixes on Podrunner,

1:06.3

an upward chime will indicate you're about to go faster.

1:09.6

A downward chime will let you know you're about to go slower and a long downward chime means

1:15.1

you're on your final segment. A look at the BPM chart shows you where this series got

1:20.6

its name because it looks like a bunch of grooves made with a bevel.

1:25.3

You can find the BPM charts, playlists, and more by clicking the Bevel Up link on the
