Welcome to the perfume room official 2024 gift guide. Please note this episode is going to be

separate from my like look back on 24, you know, like best of favorite launches,

et cetera, as well as my predictions for what we can expect in 2025. That will be a totally

different episode. And I'm also going to do in that episode based on your requests. I'm going to

look back on the episode that I did just like it last year and see which of my predictions and

manifestations came true. But this is the holiday gift guide episode. So let's get into it.

Before we do, I want to share my criteria for what constitutes a great gift. As I've said before,

and I will say it again, I think a great gift is neither pragmatic nor impractical.

I personally think that the most exciting gifts to receive and to give are the ones that feel like splurges in the categories that you know that the recipient already enjoys.

Then it checks two boxes. It's both frivolous and useful. For example, if you

are looking for a gift for somebody who smells every single body wash or hand soap at the

drugstore before making a purchase, for that person, according to me, the perfect gift would be

a luxury hand soap or body wash.

You get what I'm saying?

The things that you know that this person would love, but maybe they are not splurging on or

justifying for like everyday use.

My trying to example of this is always ESOP soap.

I'm not buying it for myself, but if somebody buys me ESOP soap, especially

in that resurrection scent, I feel nurtured and nuzzled in the arms of consumerism. And with that,

point that I am all for swaps. I am all for no buys, no buy groups, for

homemade gifts, for experiences as gifts, for favors and acts of services gifts, upcycled,
