| 0:00.0 | I still run into my own issues with goal setting. I get frustrated sometimes like with this new |
| 0:04.5 | coaching program. It's like, am I supposed to be up to 100 members and 15, which means 100 in the community and 15 101? Or am I good with, you know, 20 and 5, right? And so the question is, is you have to set your goals and they've got to be realistic goals. And I don't want to, you know, outgrow what I'm supposed to be able to manage and handle. And so, you know, when you talk about setting goals, |
| 0:03.9 | I talk about all the time, you want to establish clear, measurable, achievable goals that align with your long-term vision. And part of that, you know, when you're running a business or you're running a sales empire, you're in real estate, or you're building a company, is we all, |
| 0:38.6 | we have these big long-term goals. We're like, you know what, we're going to accomplish this. |
| 0:42.3 | I want to do 10 million this year. I want to do 20 million this year. But you got to focus on this week's goal. You got to focus on this month's goal. You got to focus on next month's goal, the next 90 days. |
| 0:35.2 | And when I remind myself, |
| 0:36.3 | and I have to do that all the time, |
| 0:37.9 | okay, slow down. |
| 0:39.6 | What's my goal this week? |
| 0:40.6 | Okay, my goal this week is to gain one person one-on-one. This is I'm giving an example for my coaching business. Gain five people in the group. What is my goal for the flooring company we're involved in? Well, make sure we get more sales reps, help push the executives that are running the company and my partners to do what they need to do, make sure that we can get Atlanta opened up. And I think it's important. I don't care how big or small you are in business, whether you're starting, whether you're doing $200,000 a year, whether you're doing $2 million a year, whether you're doing $20, you're doing $200. It comes back to realistically setting those goals that are attainable and measurable that you can put in front of yourself and you want to be able to obtain them. If you set goals that you can't get, you're just going to get, you're just going to get discouraged. You're not going to be able to get to the next level. You're not going to be able to better yourself and get that momentum and build that confidence. Everything is about confidence. If you're not confident in |
| 1:44.9 | yourself, and I doubt myself sometimes too, like I have to go, shit, Jay, I got to, I got to wake up. Like, I can't get down on this. I see progress. And sometimes it's hard. It's like watching paint dry. It's like watching your hair grow. Like it feels like it's not going anywhere. But it really is. When you start to look at it, I pulled in the parking lot today and I go, holy shit, in two years from right now, two years ago, I was got a place in Florida and we were on our rodeo to try to take the company public. |
| 2:13.4 | A year ago right now, we had a billion-50-dollar offer to do a reverse merger. |
| 2:18.5 | And then now that company's closed and I'm building from the ground up, right? |
| 2:22.0 | So much changes in one year. |
| 2:24.4 | So much changes in six months. |
| 2:27.1 | And that's when you go back and you look at it. |
| 2:29.1 | You look at it to see your progress, but you always focus forward. |
| 2:32.6 | It's hard if you can't see people or be involved with |
| 2:35.3 | people or they've got a different time zone. You're like wondering, are they putting in the work? |
| 2:40.1 | As recent as this past year, I've struggled with people working at home. I was the anti-work-at-home |
| 2:45.7 | person. Like, no way you can work at home. like one in 15 people can work from home. |
| 2:51.1 | I've changed, right? They've evolved. I said, okay, I actually have some good people that can do a lot of great shit from home. Yes. They are very successful from home. Some can't. Some can. So I used to have this control thing. If you're not in front of me and I can't see you physically working, you're probably not doing enough. that used to be this thing that I've had for years to wear. |
